Unicef
The French headquarter of UNICEF works in different areas on a national and international level. In France, UNICEF works to defend the rights of minors in the country through the creation of positions that allow for debates in the elaboration of laws as well as enabling them to advise the Government regarding the creation of policies that defend the rights of children in the country. In addition, UNICEF France plays a central role during the hearing of the United Nations Committee on the Rights of Children which is held every 5 years.
On an international level, the French headquarters support the international projects of UNICEF that are present in 156 developing countries, mainly intervening in 7 different areas: health, HIV-AIDS, sanitation and water hygiene, nutrition, protection, education and social inclusion . The main objective is to promote for each child in the world to have comprehensive coverage of these 7 areas in their lives to ensure their good development.
In the area of health, you can find vaccination campaigns. Administering vaccines can prevent the development of various diseases, clearly benefiting the health and well-being of the child. In 2014, 2 out of 3 children between the ages of 1 and 2 had never been vaccinated. Thanks to the support that UNICEF gets, they can offer vaccines to these children in impoverished regions.
With € 10,000: 1,500 children will be immunized from polio.
With € 5,000: 750 children are immunized from tuberculosis.
With € 1,000: 6 health workers can be trained.
On the other hand, UNICEF is known for being present in places of crisis, attending to areas struck by natural disasters or violent conflicts and being able to immediately send emergency aid.
The Global Gift Foundation supports UNICEF France since 2016 in its international vaccination campaigns, thus fulfilling its objectives of helping vulnerable groups, such as children from the most impoverished regions of the world.
